Highlights Along the Way

  • Enjoy a hearty breakfast, a caffeinated start to the ride, a delicious lunch or even pick up some treats for the ride at The Lass & Ladle in Grafton
  • In Colborne, take in the town square, art gallery and shops before heading out of town to continue exploring on two wheels.
  • Take a side trip to The Big Apple. Pick up a loaf of apple bread, pay a visit to the petting zoo, climb a 30 foot apple, or get a fresh-baked piece of pie.
  • There are easy grades along Lake Ontario that make this an enjoyable ride for multiple riding skill levels.
  • Splash into a break on Lake Ontario at Wicklow Beach. The fine stone beach is a quiet hideaway in Northumberland. Note there are no lifeguards on duty here.
  • If you like a smaller swimming experience, float into Little Lake, between Colborne and Brighton. The sloped, grassy beach leads to a rocky, clay base and inviting blue waters.
  • In Brighton, enjoy a delicious meal on the water at the Whistling Duck or Harbourview Bar & Restaurant. This area is a hot spot for migrating birds as well as swans and other birds who call it home.
  • Presqu’ile Provincial Park is right on the water, outside of downtown Brighton. There’s no gate fee for entering with your bike. A beautifully restored lighthouse, plus a marsh boardwalk, interpretive centre and gift shop, plenty of trails and beaches can all be found on the property. There is also opportunity to camp in their wooded sites, if you book ahead.
  • Telephone Road has some more serious grades – relish in the thrill of the downhill ride, or enjoy the exertion and cherish the challenge of going at it uphill, depending on what direction you chose to do the route!
  • Explore more rolling hills and beautiful views through Shelter Valley and Vernonville areas
