Alderville First Nation, located on the south side of Rice Lake, about 20 minutes north of Cobourg, invites visitors to experience their vibrant culture, seasonal events, and stunning natural landscapes throughout the year. Whether you’re attending a traditional celebration or exploring our rare ecosystems, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Explore Alderville's annual cultural events

Alderville First Nation welcomes visitors to their annual events.

Start with the Annual Traditional Pow Wow in July each year. Celebrate Anishinaabe culture, a gathering of drummers, dancers, and community members. You’ll also find vendors, cultural celebrations and a wealth of community spirit.

In August, attend the Annual Civic Weekend Regatta. It’s a full day of family fun outside. Enjoy canoe races and outboard motorboat racing, swimming competitions, children’s games and activities, a barbecue, 50/50 draw and grocery hamper giveaways.

Take a moment for history

Located at Highway 45 and 2nd Line Road, the Alderville War Monument stands nearly 50 feet tall and serves as a striking memorial to veterans of World War I, World War II, and the Korea and Vietnam wars as well as Alderville’s community members who served and sacrificed. Built in 1927, it is a beautiful, powerful symbol of remembrance and pride for our Nation.

Getting Here

Alderville First Nation is approximately 30 minutes north of Cobourg. By car, take Highway 474 (Division Street/Highway 45) and go north on Highway 45 to arrive in the heart of Alderville.
