From forest walks to festival feels, Brighton always has something to discover.

Brighton’s Presqu’ile Provincial Park is one of Ontario’s longest sandy beaches, a historic lighthouse, and it’s a birder’s paradise with a marsh boardwalk and miles of nature trails. Beyond the park, there’s plenty to keep active travellers busy: cycle the 69 km Presqu’ile Promise loop or a portion of the Waterfront Trail, paddle the sheltered bay, hike at Proctor Park or Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area, or head out on the water from the marina in Gosport for some boating and fishing.

If you’re looking for a perfect fall day, visit for the annual Applefest on the last weekend of September. The festival has been crowned one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario in both 2025 and 2026 and welcomes thousands of visitors each year for family-friendly events and a street market filled with artisans and food vendors, all in honour of Northumberland’s agricultural star – the apple.

Getting Here

Brighton is the eastern most community in Northumberland County. It’s located just over an hour from Kingston, just under 2 hours from Toronto and under an hour from Prince Edward County. It’s accessible by car on the 401 using exit 509 (Highway 30).
